Johnstown Tourism Week

Annually, tourism brings in $303 million to Cambria County and saves each taxpayer about $800 a year.

Visitors Bureau officials say Johnstown is a tourism destination, especially in the summer. They also say tourism has increased over the years.

“That’s our goal: to bring people into town, stimulate the economy so that our business owners and our attractions and our hotels are able to thrive and just get better,” said Olivia Bragdon, Communications Coordinator for the Greater Johnstown/Cambria County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

County officials will read a proclamation from the top of the incline plane Monday morning, May 8th. On Tuesday, May 9th, there will be a free picnic in Central Park. On Wednesday, May 10th, there will be an informative breakfast at the Holiday Inn downtown for area businesses to learn how they can get involved in group tourism.
