Johnstown Police officers will no longer be part of the county’s Special Emergency Response Team (SERT).
Police Chief Robert Johnson said he had to take three officers off the team because of manpower issues.
The department has been down about five to seven officers over the past year and half, so those three members of SERT couldn’t make all the required trainings.
The chief says he’s worried that not having enough bodies could create a liability for the city and SERT.
