Members of a Vision 2025 capture team will paint a mural on the steps above the plane. The mural is designed to look like a quilt to represent the different ethnicities in the area.
“It’s a general idea of community. In the past, people would work on a quilt as a team. And that’s sort of how this is going to come together when we get the different people helping put the pieces together with the paint,” said Joanne Mekis, a Bottle Works studio artist.
Depending on the weather, they hope to start painting the mural next week with the help of some high school students from the area.
