The ballet company wants to raise $1.3 million to renovate a new studio.
They bought the studio on Broad Street a few years ago and currently use it for storage. Now, they want to start renovating the space for their dancers and to host community workshops for underprivileged kids and the elderly.
“It keeps them active, it keeps them moving. Mentally, giving them a challenge. Everything works together, the body, mind and spirit. So if you have a high spirit it will help the body too,” said Monica Petak, the president of the Johnstown Concert Ballet Board of Directors.
The ballet company has raised about $100,000 so far.
