A Jewish community in Johnstown honored the victims of the deadly shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue.
The attacked left 11 dead and six injured.
Sunday night, an interfaith memorial service was held at Beth Sholom congregation. Anyone was invited to attend and pay their respects.
Rabbi Irvin Brandwein said it’s important for the community to come together in times like these.
“This outpouring of love and caring, it lifts us up and raises our spirit and gives us hope that we can work together and make this society a more decent, caring and compassionate society,” said Brandwein.
He added that accepting people who are different than you, especially those with different religious beliefs, is the only way to heal and overcome violence.
