A hardware store and an excavating company in Johnstown are raising money for local non-profits.
The first Saturday of every month, Bantly Hardware on Von Lunen Road donates 10 percent of their sales to local charities.
On Saturday, May 5, the store is raising money for the Cambria County Humane Society.
Another local company, Joe Kanuch Excavating, matches the money Bantly Hardware raises.
Last month, they raised $1,200 for the Cambria County Backpack Project. They hope to raise even more money throughout the year.
We have a bunch of things planned. We have something planned for volunteer fire companies. We hope it makes an impact,” said Robert Bantly, the president of Bantly Hardware Group.
On Saturday, animal shelter workers will be at Bantly Hardware from 11am-2pm with a dog you can adopt. They’ll also grill food.
