JOHNSTOWN (WTAJ) — The Federal Aviation Administration announced that it is awarding 840 million dollars in infrastructure grants to airports across the country.
The 432 grants will fund projects at 381 airports.
The John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County airport authority is among those receiving a financial boost.
The local airport was awarded 135 thousand dollars to expand landing areas.
The projects are designed to increase airport safety, emergency response capabilities and support economic growth.
This is the first round of grants awarded by the airport improvement program.
