The Pennsylvania State Senate has officially approved Richard Books to be the Interim Blair County Sheriff.
In May, Blair County Commissioners recommended Books for the position.
Books is a former Blair County Sheriff’s Deputy and Allegheny Township Police Chief.
Books will fill in until James Ott, the winner of the May primary is sworn in, in January.
