In Highland Township, Elk County, a hunter who had been missing for more than 6 hours is now in the hospital.

That hunter was first reported missing in the woods off of Owls Nest Road around 5:10 last night.

He was found just after 11:30 p.m. with the help of search teams and K-9 units from Jefferson County, but we’re told he suffered injuries that prevented him from being taken out of the woods for several more hours.

He was flown to the hospital just before 5 a.m.
