An iconic Cambria County eatery will reopen this month.

The famous restaurant, Coney Island, had been in business for more than a hundred years before closing last summer.

Friday, new owners Randy Clark and his family — who are longtime owners of Miller’s Clothing– announced they bought the restaurant from the Contacos family, who previously opened it.

Samuel Contacos, the former owner, said he’s excited to see the new owners bring it back to life.

“The toughest decision I’ve probably made was to close the doors,” Contacos said. “It feels good to know that I’m going to be able to open it back up.”

Clark said Coney Island plans to have a soft opening for the first month of operations starting later in June. The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
