The Greater Johnstown/Cambria County Convention and Visitors Bureau and MJ Daniels Trucking, LLC have teamed up to send supplies to the Houston, Texas area to aid in the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

Two or three tractor trailers will be loaded beginning Tuesday, September 5 through Thursday, September 7.

They’re looking for the following donations:

– Bottled Water

– Non Perishable Food Items—please limit to items that can be opened without a can opener

– Dry & Wet Pet Food

– Cleaning Supplies (Dawn dish soap, bleach, etc.)

– Hygiene Supplies (Toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, hand sanitizer, shampoo, etc.)

– Monetary donations (will be used to buy additional supplies to fill the trucks)

They ask that all products are boxed so they can be easily placed on pallets and shrink wrapped.

Several area businesses have offered to accept donations during their normal business hours, they include:

– Somerset Outdoor Equipment—312 S. Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501

Donation items have been coordinated with and will be delivered to Kingdom Church in Rosenberg, TX.

A banner courtesy of Weidlein Signs, Johnstown, PA will be available at the Welcome Center/Johnstown CVB for donors to sign well wishes to victims and will be delivered with supplies.

MJ Daniels Trucking, LLC drivers Aaron Korenoski, Tom Cote and Cody Joiner have offered their time and skill and will be leaving with supplies on Friday, September 8. Trucks have been supplied by Aaron Korenoski and MJ Daniels Trucking, LLC. Trailers have been supplied by Diesel Transport, Inc in Windber, PA, Birk Transfer, Inc. in Johnstown, PA and Jeff Cernic, Johnstown, PA.

A donation of six 4-foot by 6-foot temporary vinyl signage for the trailers is also being sought.
