Starting Monday, the Eastbound Lane of Route 26, also known as Penn Street in Huntingdon Borough, will be closed as crews work to make upgrades and install new signs and guide rails.
This is part of the Route 22 and 4th Street Improvement Project.
When the Eastbound work is complete the Westbound Lane will be closed to receive those same upgrades. The detour route will follow Route 26 to Route 30-35, Fairgrounds Road, to Route 22.
There is no word on how long it will take for the Eastbound portion to be complete but the overall project is expected to be completed by December.
