Holiday tradition set to resume

Lakemont Park will be open for it’s Holiday Lights on the Lake this Friday.

The Park is decorated with Christmas lights for cars to pass through. Some displays are sponsored by local businesses. part of those proceeds go to local non-profits.

Gates will be open from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm through January 7.

“This is one of the family traditions that people do every year,” Lakemont Park Assistant Manager Chris Harpster said. “Some people it is always the tradition to try and be the first ones through, Some people they always want to come on Thanksgiving before they go shopping.

“We get a lot of people from all 50 states. Whenever they come in to visit, kids love it.”

The cost is $12 a car and $20 for commercial vans. An unlimited winter pass for a car costs $39.95.
