A holiday light display in Blair County is making a statement while helping give back.

Ron and Jaynne Bowers said they started decorating their house in 1981 when their daughter was born. 

Year after year it keeps growing! 

Now the couple sets up nearly 15,000 lights and around 50 blow-up characters.

Throughout the season people come by to take a look and also donate to the Central PA Humane Society.

“People always wanted to give me money for the electric bill and I said I don’t need the money,” Ron said. “That’s how we came up with collecting donations,” Jaynne continued. “We wanted to collect for something we like and that’s what we came up with.”

Last year the Bowers raised almost $500 dollars. They hope to donate even more this year.

The light display is located on Oakdale Road in Martinsburg.
