Rain or shine Berlin Brothersvalley High School football player number 22, Carter Raupach, refines his skill.

The kicker is a powerhouse, even breaking the PA state career scoring record. He currently stands at 307 points.

“I just come out and do what I do best,” he said.

Each time he hits the field, the senior knows he’s using his talent for more than just winning a game.

He’s helping kick childhood cancer.

“It’s something I love to do so I might as well raise something out of it and help others while I’m doing it too,” Carter said.

Carter is involved in the organization “Kick-It.” It’s a nonprofit that raises money for pediatric cancer research.

He accepts one-time donations or you can pledge a dollar amount for every extra point or field goal he makes during the season. His goal is 65 points.

“I think it was homecoming night and I went home and my mom told me about how people were donating after every point,” he told us. “I asked her how much we raised and she said over $500 to $600 dollars in one night. It kind of made me feel really good inside.”

With help from his team, Carter has already raised $5,308. In 2015 he raised $9,054.

“It’s just a nice feeling to know that you’re helping someone out in a little way,” he said.

If you would like to help Carter kick childhood cancer you can sign up before any home game. You can also log onto www.kick-it.org and click on “support an event of individual.” You can then type “Carter” into the search bar and his kick-it campaign will appear.
