A gym in State College is hoping to “knock out” Parkinson’s Disease.
Victory Sports and Fitness hosted a free boxing class, benefiting the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.
Any participants were encouraged to donate or purchase tickets for a silent auction.
Scott Everhart, a director at the gym said, they’ve created a class designed for someone with Parkinson’s.
He said it’s an opportunity to support a good cause and clients.
“Through working with them, I realized man, this is a tough disease and I just want to do something to help,” Everhart said.
This is the first time the gym has worked with the Fox Foundation.
Everhart said even with a national campaign, events like this keep the gym connected to its community.
