At his formal arraignment Wednesday, former Bedford District Attorney Bill Higgins pleaded guilty to all charges.

Bill Higgins was arrested back on April 4th on 31 charges, including obstruction of law, intimidation of witnesses, hindering prosecution, and official oppression.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro says Higgins protected known drug dealers from prosecution, revealed the identity of confidential information, and arranged lenient treatment for women who he had sexual relations with.

Shortly after his arrest, Higgins resigned at Bedford District Attorney.

His deal with Attorney General’s office includes no jail time. He initially was looking at a 62 year jail sentence.

He will be sentenced August 24th.
