The Salvation Army of Altoona received some much needed help this holiday season.

Martin’s Food Markets donated $14,000 in gift cards to the Salvation Army.

The Corp Commander says this is needed more than ever with their Red Kettle Campaign numbers down. He says the funds will go towards helping thousands buy food this holiday season.

“What we’ll do with the gift cards is make the purchases, the necessary purchases and we’ll keep all of that at the Salvation Army and distribute that as needed,” Lt. Larry Fulmer said.

The Salvation Army of Altoona says they still hope to reach their  goal of $101,000 for their Red Kettle Campaign until December 23.
