Today, Governor Tom Wolf is making a special stop in our region.
The Governor is visiting the Appvion Paper Mill in Roaring Spring, Blair County, to learn about their apprenticeship program, and outline his new initiatives for manufacturing and career training.
The Governor took a tour of the facility Monday morning with the focus on workforce development, and finding workers for technical positions.
Appvion was able to highlight it’s apprenticeship program, which has veteran workers train newer employees. The company spoke on how it gives younger workers time to develop their skills before advancing to other positions.
