The aftermath of Hurricane Harvey is causing unpleasantly high gas prices for travelers this Labor Day weekend.

More than a dozen oil refineries had to be shut down because of flooding caused by Harvey, and experts say that’s causing the cost of fuel to rise.

Fortunately experts say that increase is likely only temporary.

Right now oil prices in parts of Texas have risen above $4 per gallon.

In our area prices have risen to $2.85 in Altoona, $2.90 in Johnstown, and $2.75 in State College.
