Fugitive Shawn Christy has been arrested.

Christy, 27, was arrested near Mansfield, Ohio without major problems. He was found near a river, hiding under a large boulder. A handgun and knife were found during the arrest.

Christy is scheduled for an initial appearance before a U.S. Federal Judge in the Northern District of Ohio on September 24.

Christy had several arrest warrants, including his threat to harm President Donald Trump. Police searched for Christy for three months in several states and Canada. Police believe Christy may have committed other crimes while he was on the run, including breaking and entering, and stealing vehicles and weapons.

“It took less than three months to bring this fugitive to justice and I would like to thank the community for their diligence in working with us to apprehend this fugitive,” said U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane. “Working together, we have helped to restore peace in our communities. It is truly a testament of dedication and excellence demonstrated by the law enforcement community in leaving no stone unturned in the search efforts. I commend all those who assisted in this case.”

Several local, state and federal agencies assisted in locating and arresting Christy, including the U.S. Marshals Service, Federal Bureau of Investigations, United States Secret Service, Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Mansfield Police Department, and the K-9 unit from Allegheny County Sheriff’s Department, Pennsylvania.
