After the frigid weather we’ve had this week, just about the last thing you’d think about doing is going for a swim in the creek.

That’s what more than 300 people did today at Canoe Creek State Park. They jumped into the frigid water at the 2019 Winter Games Polar Plunge.

The event supports Pennsylvania Special Olympics.

“You’d be surprised,” David Horrell from Horell Insurance Agency said. “It’s not as bad as it looks on television, I’m sure.”

Horell says his seven member team raised more than $1,000 for Special Olympics.

Our Morgan Koziar and former anchor Carolyn Donaldson emceed the event.
