Think about if you invited your whole town to Thanksgiving.

That would be a lot of cooking, but the organizers of the Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Tyrone think it’s well worth the work.

“It’s for anyone,” Aaron Craig, one of the organizers, said. “We have people here that are in need and we have people here that are just busy and don’t have time to cook dinner tonight so they stopped by to get a meal.”

Every Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Joshua House feeds all of Tyrone. You are welcome to dine-in or get take-out.

“[William’s] favorite part is probably baking his cream puffs and his chocolate,” Nancy Kilmartin, who helped cook for the event, said. “Come to think of it, I didn’t get my own cream puff tonight,” laughed William Emerick.

Nearly 400 meals are usually served.

So how much turkey is that? We’re told 17 were cooked up for the dinner.

Canned goods or non-perishable items were also brought to the event. They’ll go into Christmas baskets to help families in need in the community this holiday season.

You can still donate those items. Just bring them to Joshua House (926 Logan Ave. Tyrone).
