A group of volunteers in Clearfield County are prepping to serve hundreds of free meals on
Christmas Eve.

Steve Livergood started the free dinner service with his family back in 1996.

Twenty-one years later, the event is serving and delivering more than 700 meals.

They’re cooking up 40 turkeys and making more than 1,000 stuffing balls!

Livergood says it’s bigger than he ever could have imagined.

“It is heartwarming, it is. There’s no if and or buts about it. And it brings tears to your eyes when you think about it,” said Livergood.

Dinner will be served at the VFW in Clearfield on Christmas Eve from 11:00 until 3:00 p.m.

Meals can also be delivered to anyone in the Clearfield, Curwensville, or Woodland areas.
