A former bus driver for the Altoona Area School District is facing charges for an incident that happened back on March 2nd, 2018. 

Logan Township Police say Elizabeth Roller dropped children off at at the Juniata Gap Elementary school that morning before heading back to the bus terminal in Greenwood. Before leaving the bus, she failed to check the bus for any remaining children. 

One student, an 11-year-old boy,who had fallen asleep, woke up after Roller had left. He remained there for approximately four hours, before seeing another driver and running out to him. The boy was not injured. He was returned to family.

Roller is facing charges of Endangering the Welfare of Children.

She was fired after initial report of the incident. Ride Transportation Inc., the company that provides bus services for the district, previously told us they have a zero tolerance police for incidents like this and passenger safety is their number one priority.
