A music festival in Cambria County is less than two weeks away and organizers need volunteers.

The AmeriServ Flood City Music Festival runs Friday August 4th and Saturday August 5th at Peoples Natural Gas Park in Johnstown.

The Johnstown Area Heritage Association (JAHA) puts on the festival and needs people to volunteer, especially during the evening shifts from 6:45 p.m. -11 p.m.

There are around 75 volunteers so far, but they need about 75 more to help serve drinks and work at the gate. Volunteers get free admission to the festival on the day they help out and a t-shirt.

“Here in the city, getting people to commit is hard. Between family and community responsibilities it’s difficult, but somehow the community does show up. It always comes together in that ninth hour,” said Melody Tisinger, the JAHA Development Officer.

If you would like to volunteer, you can contact the Johnstown Area Heritage Association by calling 814-539-1889 or emailing Nicole Burkert at Nburkert@jaha.org.

You can learn more about the festival and how to volunteer by visiting the festival’s website.
