SHANKSVILLE, SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Two family members will be the featured guests this weekend at the Flight 93 Speaker Series at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Somerset County.

Ken Nacke’s brother and Patrick White’s cousin, Louis J. “Joey” Nacke was a passenger aboard United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, 2001. The two family members will share stories about their loved one and their experiences with the creation of the memorial over the last 18 years. The final feature of the memorial, the Tower of Voices, was dedicated last September.

The programs will be at noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 25 and at noon on Sunday, May 26. Both programs are being held at the Memorial’s Learning Center and are free to the public.

Additional Flight 93 Speaker Series events are planned in the next couple of months.

  • June 15-16 – Ed Root and Emily Schenkel will share stories of their loved one, Lorraine Bay, who was a United Airlines flight attendant.
  • July 27-28 – Volunteers will share their stories about volunteering at the memorial and their roles as Ambassadors to the Flight 93 National Memorial.
  • August 17 (no Sunday program) – Paul McNaulty, President of Grove City College, will speak at this event. He served as the lead prosecutor in the Zacarias Moussaoui trial and eventually served as a deputy attorney general under George W. Bush.
