A location for the first mini casino in Pennsylvania could be decided early in the new year.
The first license auction is scheduled for January 10. This where category 1 or 2 license holders can bid to be able to build and operate the first mini casino.
Each bidder has to submit two envelopes.
The first contains the amount they want to bid with a minimum of $7.5 million. The second would contain the location they would want to build.
If there aren’t any bids, or if there is a tie, there will be additional rounds of auctions.
Municipalities have until the end of the year to vote on an opt out from consideration. Tyrone, State College, Patton Township and Westmont are among those who have opted out.
