A Centre County fire department needs your help after an event was suddenly canceled.
The Hope Fire Company in downtown Philipsburg was planning to give away a 2018 Chevy Silverado at the Wing Ding Thing, to be held on September 8, but it has been unexpectedly canceled.
The department is now looking for anyone interested in holding an alternative community event that day, including bands, food venders, no cost for the booth, and anyone else that’s willing to volunteer to perform along with sound and light technicians. The department is also looking for a location for the alternative event.
The truck giveaway is the departments largest fundraiser and they are still planning on giving the truck away.
