Fire crews were called to a large house fire in Huntingdon County on Tuesday.

Fire companies from Huntingdon and Blair counties were called to a fire along Henderson Overlook Road in Smithfield Township around 10:30 a.m.

The homeowner said he believes his 3-year-old grandson was playing with a cigarette lighter, which may have started the fire.

State police are investigating the cause but are calling it accidental.

Fire officials said the lack of nearby hydrants created a challenge when battling the flames.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.
