A fire tore through a house in Allegheny Township completely destroying the home Saturday morning.
911 officials say it happened at a home on Oak Avenue just after 3:00am. Multiple fire crews responded.
Dispatch officials say no one was inside at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
In response to the fire, the Allegheny Township Fire Department collected donations Sunday for the displaced family. The community came out in full-force providing food items, clothes, and even toys.
The department says that fortunately they don’t have to do something like this often but feels it’s there duty to support the community the way that the community supports them.
Fire Chief Dave Cassidy explained, “Having such a tragedy like this, it’s the last thing they think of. And we thought as a department that this would be a good thing for us to do.”
