The discovery took place Monday night, at their home off of Shady Lane Extension in Bellefonte; that’s when crews responded to plumes of smoke. The district attorney said she suffered severe blunt force trauma to her skull.

A 12-year old girl was also in the home, but was able to get out safely.

After setting a total of three fires, the district attorney says McGhee fled the scene and crashed his car on I-80 in Jersey Shore, Clinton County. He was later arrested.

Charles was denied bail at his arraignment, Tuesday – facing charges including murder and arson.

Courtney’s autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
