Fiore Toyota presented a $17,000 donation to the Logan Township Police Department.

The funds are being used to purchase a new K-9 for the force. It will also help cover some of the maintenance costs of the dog as well. Dan Fiore says this donation is to pay some support back to the community that they have received for the last 27 years.

Dan Fiore explained, “It’s hard to find something that would effect all the people of Blair County, which is basically our community that we served. We thought a police K-9  really fit the bill, plus my whole family is full of dog lovers so it just worked out.”

Logan Township Chief Tim Mercer says this helps with officer safety and deterring drugs. He said, “To me, this is policing at its finest with the community support. We are here to support and serve the public. When you build that report with the community, it actually makes law enforcement more effective.”
