Family’s Christmas display open for tours

A beautiful display outside but it’s what’s inside this family home that has become the talk of the town over the last decade.

You won’t see this display advertised anywhere, but word has traveled by those who witness it. For the last 17 years, the Stolarksi house turns into a Christmas wonderland. Each room with a different theme, created by Nancy Stolarski and the items she’s collected over the years.

The themes change as new items spark new ideas. She explained, “It just inspires me, everything is different every year.”

The Stolarski’s have had churches and nursing homes walk through their home. There is no charge to come and see the display. It just takes a phone call and a time. While it free to take the tour, the does family takes donations. Money collected is given to the Northern Bedford Music Department to honor their late son, Matthew. Matthew passed away from an illness three years ago at the age of 25.

“He loved his music,” Nancy explained, “and he’s in our hearts. Always.”

Matthew was involved in music at the school and loved playing. Displays like the music tree honor his love of music. Nancy detailed, “When I hear the chime going, I think of Matthew all the time. He was always playing his guitars in here….you’d always hear music coming out of this room. “

Nancy is deeply passionate about Christmas and her husband doesn’t mind their home’s transformation, even though it takes a month and a half to set up. Walt Stolarski explained, “It makes her so happy and it’s what it’s all about: make your wife happy.”

And it does, especially the chance to share her love of Christmas to anyone and everyone.

Nancy said, “I want them to come and smile and tell me what they think and their opinions on the trees. If it makes them happy, then I’m happy.”

You can take a tour through the Stolarski Home all the way through January.
