A local family will be getting a home of their own thanks to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County.
The organization broke ground Tuesday for a new house  for Andrey and Olga Berezhnoy and their five children.

The new construction on Reynolds Avenue in Bellefonte is expected to take about seven months. In the past 35 years, the Habitat chapter has built, renovated or repaired 60 homes with the help of qualified families.

Families who qualify for housing are required to contribute 350 hours to the project. Habitat will be looking for volunteers to help with the build toward the end of summer.
