The life of a fallen hero honored in a very special was in Clearfield County on Friday. Politicans, family members, and veterans came out to remember the legacy of private David Kyle McCracken.
Private McCracken is a fallen World War Two veteran, who died during duty in Belgium in 1943.
The Trout Run Bridge in Shawville was dedicated and renamed to the McCracken Memorial bridge.
Pennsylvania Representative Matt Gabler attended the dedication, and was one of the house members to approve the bill for the bridge dedication.
“It’s not just about putting a sign along the side of the road. It’s about what the meaning is behind it and enabling us to rededicate our lives to living in a way as Americans that is worthy of the sacrifice that was made by great people like Private McCracken,” says Rep. Gabler.
The bridge is the near intersection of routes 879 and 970 in Shawville.
