Emergency services in PA

A bill passed unanimously Wednesday by the state house calls for a close look at the way emergency services are delivered in Pennsylvania.

It would create a bipartisan commission of state senate and house leaders to recommend improvements in the delivery of these services.

The number of volunteer emergency responders continues to dramatically decline, while the costs of performing their duties increases.

The house bill, which aims to reverse those trends, still needs approval by the state senate and the governor.
