An entire Police Department in Pennsylvania will soon be abolished.
The East Pittsburgh Police Department is set to disband December 1.
The news comes months after the deadly shooting of 17-year-old Antwon Rose.
Rose was shot in June while running away from a car suspected of being involved in an earlier shooting.
The officer who fired, Michael Rosefeld, is awaiting trial.
Meanwhile, the teen’s family has filed a lawsuit naming the East Pittsburgh Bureau, Police Chief and the Mayor as defendants.
“It kind of concerns me that nobody’s really going to be here so if we have an emergency, we’re going to have to wait for wherever they’re coming from,” said Melissa Patterson, East Pittsburgh resident.
Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement that they’ll take over patrols for the department.
