A resident of DuBois, David James Girardi, plead guilty this past Tuesday to health care fraud.
Girardi, formerly a physician at Brookeville Hospital, admitted to submitting claims to Highmark for Oxycodone and Hydrocodone prescriptions he wrote for his wife, but they were intended for his own use.
Sentencing for Girardi is scheduled for August 5, 2019. There may be a total sentence of 10 years, a $250,000 fine, or both.
