DUBOIS, Pa. (WTAJ)– A marching band from Boston is traveling across the country– and made a stop in Clearfield County Tuesday.
The Boston Crusaders are a drum corps of 154 people age 16 to 22.
“You’ve seen high school marching bands, you’ve seen college bands, but there’s nothing quite like this over the summer,” drum major Josh Ballinger said. “We get the best performers in the country this age to come together to put this on the field.”
They were in Dubois Tuesday to practice on their way to a competition in Michigan.
Players travel from town to town and never stay in a hotel– instead they spent the night at DuBois Area High School.
“It’s so rewarding,” snare section leader Brian Spencer said. “Every single day you’re in a new state, but you’re surrounded by the same 154 people. It’s really cool to build a family while being pushed to your limits.”
If you missed the band Tuesday, they’ll be practicing again at the DuBois middle school and high school Wednesday.
All practices are open to the public.
