Basonnie Green was arrested Thursday morning at the Amtrak train station in Johnstown. Police said he was carrying 392 stamp bags of heroin and 25 rocks of crack cocaine into the city.
Investigators said the 24-year-old was spotted multiple times commuting between Pittsburgh and Johnstown, using different names. When police stopped him Thursday morning, they said he fought back before he was arrested.
“It has approximate street value of $10,000, so that’s a sizable amount of drugs that won’t be on the street,” said Sergeant Patrick Goggin from the Johnstown Police Department.
Green is facing several charges, including possession of drugs with intent to distribute, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence.
