Government data shows from 2014 to 2016, more than 15-thousand children under 18 were injured in tip-overs.
From 2000-2016 more than 150 children died from tipovers of dressers, bureaus or with a t-v on top.
Consumer reports conducted tip-over testing on 24 different dressers, subjecting each to progressively tougher tests.
The result: the group says the voluntarty standard is ‘inadequate’ because it still leaves too many children at risk.
Consumer reports is now calling for a mandatory standard to protect children.
In the meantime, if you are a parent of young children, you want to go buy anchor kits for any furniture that could fall on a child.
The consumer product safety commission says those kits costs as little as five dollars a piece.
