CLEARFIELD, Pa. (WTAJ)– An organization in Clearfield wants to honor those who serve our country and community with banners downtown.

The Clearfield Revitalization Corporation (CRC) announced its Clearfield Salutes banner program.

Banners recognize military members and those who serve the community– like police or volunteer firefighters– who are from the Clearfield area.

Each banner features the person’s name, picture and branch of service.

“We need to honor those people for our rights in the United States and our freedom, and to be able to represent our community of the past and the present,” Main Street Manager with the CRC Loretta Wagner said.

Banners will hang on lamposts on Front, 2nd, 3rd and East Market Streets.

They will be displayed from July through mid-November and be reused each year.

The cost of a banner is $150. The deadline to order a banner is May 31.

To order a banner, contact the CRC at (814) 765-6000 or by emailing discoverclearfield@gmail.com.
