The Centre County Commissioners presented a donation today that will go towards the new Centre Care Nursing and Healthcare Facility.
The presentation took place at the county’s current nursing facility, Centre Crest.
The Commissioners, on behalf of the county, presented a check for $500,000 to Centre Care.
The director of their board, Betsy Boyer, hopes this will help jump-start more donations that are needed to fund the new facility.
“It’s extremely exciting, it’s a huge boost to our capital campaign,” said Boyer. “We so appreciate the commissioners support of this project for us.”
With today’s donation, Centre Care reached $3.6 million of their $6 million goal.
Centre Care is now looking to receive bids from their contractors for the new facility.
They plan to break ground on the project in late March or early April.
The goal is for the new facility to be complete by 2020.
