A Scranton doctor is facing felony charges after over-prescribing more than 17,000 oxycodone pills to two patients in a two-year period.
60-year-old Dr. Louis Adamo prescribed over 9,500 pills to Brett Nachand between August 2014 and March 2016, and over 7,900 pills to Mark Pettinato from January 2015 to March 2016.
A pharmacy in Dunmore, Pennsylvania contacted authorities when they noticed a large amount oxycodone was being dispensed by the doctor to Nachand.
Nachand is also facing charges in the case.
Both have their prelimary hearings set for November 9.
