HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — As the weather starts to turn, it’s the perfect time to go check out what’s in bloom at Discovery Garden.
It is the region’s only fully-accessible public garden.
The garden is located at Legion Park in Hollidaysburg and today, volunteers were back to work raking, weeding and getting the garden looking its best.
Discovery Garden is a project of the skills foundation, which creates opportunities and provides support to folks living with behavioral health, intellectual or development challenges.
“It’s become a destination which makes us all very proud…because we try to…we know that prom pictures are taken here,” said JoAnn Propcheck, Administrator for the Discovery Garden Board. “We know that engagement pictures, wedding pictures, baby pictures…so we try to maintain everything.”
The garden will be holding a plant sale on May 18. All proceeds from that will benefit Skills Horticultural Therapy Program and Discovery Garden.
