Police report that at least 11 people are dead and six people are injured after a man opened fire inside the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh Saturday morning.

Police say the shooter, 46-year-old Robert Bowers, has been taken into custody in Pittsburgh and he was taken to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators say two of the six victims are in critical condition.

During a press conference Saturday afternoon, FBI officials say Bowers had an assault rifle and three hand guns during the attack, which lasted about 20 minutes. It is unknown at this time if he has any connections to the synogogue.

Police are conducting a search warrant of Bowers’ home.
