State Police held a special dedication ceremony Wednesday for the newly reopened Rockview barracks.

We’re told that the building will have several significant improvements. All of the new equipment will be used to improve their investigations.

The station commander said in spite of the decision to close the Philipsburg Police barracks, the Rockview barracks are making sure that all parts of Centre County are being served well.

“We have the Pennsylvania State Police consistently and constantly in those areas so that they don’t receive any less customer service than any other citizen within this Centre County region,” said Station Commander Lt. Gregory Bernard.

State Police also say that the Rockview barracks’ closeness to highways, and their increased manpower, is ensuring that all of Pennsylvania is as safe as ever.
