Lookout, Tinder… Facebook is getting into the online dating business and helping users fall in love.
The social media giant unveiled “Facebook Dating” at its annual Developers’ Conference on Tuesday.
Interested users can set up a dating profile with their first name.
They will not be matched with people they are already friends with and it will not appear in news feeds.
Users will be able to browse events near them, check out profiles of other users attending those events and chat privately with people they’re interested in.
C-E-O Mark Zuckerberg said the service is a natural extension of the company’s core mission of connecting people.
The dating feature is set to roll out later this year.
