An 88-year-old man from Denmark is walking across the United States. His stop was in Bellwood on Tuesday.

Bracklen, which is the only name he goes by, said he came to America in March of 2018. 

He said everyday he just walks and prays that God will lead him in the right direction.

He added that he wants everyone to try and be kinder to one another and help each other.

“Be more kind to one another, especially around this time of year. This is about God. This is His time of year, so show some love to him by showing some love to your fellow man,” Bracklen said.

He goes back to his town in Denmark at the end of December. He said he’s looking forward to a big, warm bowl of soup, and a good night’s rest.
